Simon Parkin

Simon Parkin is a British pianist, composer, arranger and educator. Born in Manchester, he was educated at the Yehudi Menuhin School and later studied on the joint course at the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester, with training in piano and composition. His early musical interests developed across performance, composition and creative musicianship. Parkin is active as a pianist and duo partner, particularly in his long-standing partnership with cellist Hannah Roberts. Their duo has appeared in recitals and festivals and has been praised for its ensemble sensitivity and musical intelligence. He has also worked as an accompanist and duo pianist with a broad repertoire and with a range of distinguished artists. His work as arranger and composer includes chamber music and arrangements for professional ensembles. In education, Parkin has taught composition, improvisation, aural and musicianship-related subjects.
