Li-Wei Qin

Chinese-Australian cellist Li-Wei Qin is widely regarded as one of the leading cellists of his generation. He won the Silver Medal at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition and First Prize at the prestigious Naumburg Competition in New York. Gramophone Magazine described him as “a superbly stylish, raptly intuitive performer,” while The New York Times praised his “meltingly beautiful tone, flawless intonation and ironclad technique.” Li-Wei has appeared as soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He has twice appeared as a soloist at the BBC Proms in London’s Royal Albert Hall and has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Harding, Jaap van Zweden, Yu Long, Lü Jia and Tan Dun. Currently Professor at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, Li-Wei also serves as Guest Professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music. He is regularly invited to give masterclasses and serve on the jury of major international competitions worldwide. In 2018, Li-Wei founded the Qingdao International Cello Festival and continues to serve as its Artistic Director, fostering artistic exchange between China and the international cello community. Li-Wei Qin performs on a 1780 Joseph Guadagnini cello.

秦立巍（Li-Wei Qin）是享誉国际乐坛的大提琴演奏家，现任新加坡国立大学杨秀桃音乐学院教授，上海音乐学院、中央音乐学院客座教授，英国皇家北方音乐学院室内乐客座教授。 1998年，秦立巍荣获第十一届柴可夫斯基国际音乐比赛银奖；2001年获得纽约瑙姆堡国际大提琴比赛一等奖，成为国际乐坛备受瞩目的华人大提琴家。英国《留声机》杂志评价他为“风格卓越、极具音乐直觉的演奏家”，《纽约时报》则称赞其拥有“优美动人的音色、精准的音准和炉火纯青的技巧”。 作为活跃于国际舞台的独奏家和室内乐演奏家，秦立巍曾与伦敦爱乐乐团、洛杉矶爱乐乐团、柏林广播交响乐团、维也纳广播交响乐团、中国爱乐乐团、香港管弦乐团、悉尼交响乐团、墨尔本交响乐团等世界著名乐团合作演出，并两度受邀担任英国BBC逍遥音乐节独奏嘉宾。合作过的指挥家包括阿什肯纳齐、丹尼尔·哈丁、梵志登、余隆、吕嘉、谭盾等国际乐坛名家。 除演奏事业外，秦立巍长期致力于音乐教育与青年人才培养，经常受邀在世界各地举办大师班，并担任日内瓦国际音乐比赛、尹伊桑国际音乐比赛、圣保罗国际大提琴比赛、舍恩菲尔德国际弦乐比赛及青年柴可夫斯基国际音乐比赛等重要赛事评委。 2018年，秦立巍创办青岛国际大提琴艺术节并担任艺术总监。艺术节已成为中国最具影响力的大提琴艺术交流平台之一，吸引了众多国际知名演奏家、教育家及青年音乐人才参与。 秦立巍现使用一把1780年Joseph Guadagnini制作的大提琴演出。
