Li-Wei Qin is a Chinese-Australian cellist, educator and the founder and Artistic Director of the Qingdao International Cello Festival. Born in Shanghai and later raised in Australia, he studied with Ralph Kirshbaum at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. His international career was launched through major competition successes, including the Silver Medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition and First Prize at the Naumburg International Cello Competition in New York. As a soloist and chamber musician, Qin has appeared with major orchestras and at leading concert venues and festivals throughout Asia, Europe, Australia and North America. His artistic work combines a strong command of the classical tradition with a broad interest in chamber music, education and cultural exchange. He has been associated with the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme and was named Young Australian of the Year in 2002. Qin is based in Singapore, where he is Professor of Cello at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. He has also taught at the Royal Northern College of Music and has served as a guest professor at leading Chinese conservatories. Through the Qingdao International Cello Festival, he continues to build a platform for young cellists, international artists and audiences to meet through performance, teaching and artistic dialogue.
秦立巍是华裔澳大利亚大提琴家、教育家,青岛国际大提琴艺术节发起人及艺术总监。秦立巍出生于上海,后移居澳大利亚,并先后在英国皇家北方音乐学院随 Ralph Kirshbaum 学习,在伦敦市政厅音乐与戏剧学院随 David Takeno 深造。他曾获第十一届柴可夫斯基国际音乐比赛大提琴组银奖,并获得纽约 Naumburg International Cello Competition 第一名,由此开启国际演奏事业。 作为独奏家与室内乐音乐家,秦立巍曾在亚洲、欧洲、澳大利亚及北美的重要音乐厅、音乐节和乐团舞台上演出。他的艺术实践兼具严谨的古典传统、深厚的室内乐修养以及对音乐教育和国际交流的持续投入。2001年,他入选 BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists 计划;2002年获评 Young Australian of the Year。 秦立巍现任新加坡国立大学杨秀桃音乐学院大提琴教授,曾任教于英国皇家北方音乐学院,并担任中国多所重要音乐学院的客座教授。他通过青岛国际大提琴艺术节持续搭建面向青年大提琴学子、国际艺术家与观众的交流平台,使演出、教学与艺术对话在青岛这座城市中不断延展。
