Cellist大提琴演奏家
Xie Tian is a young Chinese cellist, Principal Cellist of the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Shu String Quartet and founder of Yadanno Culture. He is recognised for his energetic performance style and for his active work across solo, chamber music and orchestral stages. In 2016, Xie won the Gold Award at the 9th Davydov International Cello Competition as well as the competition’s Best Bach Interpretation Award. He had previously won the Gold Award of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Concerto Competition in 2010 and received a scholarship from the Lin Yaoji Chinese Music Foundation in 2012. These achievements helped establish him as one of the notable young Chinese cellists of his generation. Xie’s musical interests extend beyond the standard cello repertoire. In addition to orchestral and chamber performance, he has explored cross-cultural programmes and collaborations involving Chinese instruments and Western classical repertoire. His work reflects a willingness to connect cello performance with broader musical possibilities, combining technical command with curiosity about sound, style and communication.
